Michael Bennett (Florida)
Michael S. Bennett (b. January 1, 1945) is a former Republican member of the Florida State Senate, representing District 21 from 2002 to 2012. He served as President Pro Tempore. Florida term limits disqualified him from re-election in 2012. He instead ran for the 11th Congressional District seat.[1]
Bennett served in the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 to 2002.
Biography
Bennett earned his B.A. from Drake University in 1975 and his M.B.A. from Drake University in 1976. His professional experience includes working for Sunbelt Audio, as National Sales Manager for Fawn Engineering and as President of Aladdin Wand Electric. He served in the United States Navy in Vietnam from 1963 to 1967.

Bennett is ineligible to run for re-election to the Florida State Senate in 2012 because of term limits. He is instead who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 11th Congressional District from Florida.[1]

On November 4, 2008, Bennett won re-election to the 21st District Seat in the Florida State Senate. Bennett was unopposed. Bennett raised $288,362 for his campaign.[3]
