A native of Fort Wayne, Indiana, I am public school teacher running for the State House because positive change will only come to Indiana's students, teachers, and schools when educators are writing education policy.
  • For Students: Increase per-pupil funding to the levels of our neighboring states. Lessen the importance of standardized testing (ILEARN).
  • For Teachers: Invest 3.7% of Indiana's budget surplus in teacher salaries and in reimbursements for the cost of courses required to teach our students the most rigorous dual credit classes.
  • For Indiana: Raise the minimum wage from its current rate of $7.25 to improve quality of life.
As a teacher and student of Indiana's public schools, education is the issue about which I am most passionate. I am also passionate about issues that affect quality of life and environmental sustainability.
