Michael Boyer was a candidate for District 3 Position 6 representative on the Topeka Public Schools Board of Education in Kansas. He was defeated in the general election on April 7, 2015.
Biography
Boyer is a retired teacher. He had been employed at Topeka West High School.[1] He earned his B.S. and M.S. in social studies education from University of Kansas.[2]

Four seats on the board of education were up for election on April 7, 2015. Position 4 incumbent Janel Johnson, Position 5 incumbent Peg McCarthy, Position 6 incumbent Patrick Woods, and at-large Position 7 incumbent Nancy Kirk sought re-election in 2015. Johnson won re-election unopposed.[3]
McCarthy, Woods, and Kirk defeated their challengers. Scott Holloman lost to McCarthy for the Position 5 seat. Woods defeated two challengers for Position 6: Michael Boyer and Lloyd Fleming. The Position 7 at-large challenger Jenny Prichard lost against incumbent Kirk.[3]

Boyer filed a K.S.A. 25-904(a) form, also known as an "Affidavit of Exemption," stating he would not spend or receive more than $500.00 in the election cycle, including contributions to his own campaign. The final campaign finance reporting deadline for this race was May 7, 2015. Boyer was only required to file on that date if he exceeded the stated limits.[4]
