Michael "Shane" Broadway (b. August 30, 1972) is a former Democratic member of the Arkansas State Senate, representing District 22 from 2003 to 2011.

Broadway served in the Arkansas House of Representatives from 1997 to 2002. During this time he served as Speaker of the House.

Broadway was the 2010 Democratic candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Arkansas.

Biography

Broadway earned his B.A. from Arkansas State University in 1994. His professional experience includes working in advertising and economic development.

Broadway was ineligible to run for re-election in 2010 due to the term limits of the Arkansas Legislature.

He ran for Lieutenant Governor of Arkansas. Broadway did not face any primary opposition. He lost to Republican Mark Darr in November 2 general election.[1][2]

2006

On November 7, 2006, Broadway won re-election to the 22nd District Seat in the Arkansas State Senate, running unopposed in the general election.[3]

Broadway raised $34,700 for his campaign.[4]
