Michael Brown (Democratic Party) was a member of the Missouri House of Representatives, representing District 50. He assumed office in 2005. He left office in 2013.

Brown (Democratic Party) ran for election to the Jackson County Legislature to represent District 4 in Missouri. He lost in the Democratic primary on August 2, 2022.

Brown also ran for re-election to the Metropolitan Community College Board of Trustees to represent Subdistrict 6 in Missouri. He lost in the general election on April 5, 2022.

Biography

Michael Brown earned his B.A. in political science from the University of Missouri–Kansas City. He received an A.A. from Penn Valley Community College. His career experience includes working as the owner of Ghettostone Publishing.

Issues

No New Taxes Pledge

A minority of Missouri lawmakers signed the 2011 edition of the "No New Taxes Pledge." The Taxpayer Protection Pledge is offered by the nonprofit lobbying organization Americans for Tax Reform with the goal of opposing all tax increases as a matter of principle. Just one out of 34 state Senate members signed the 2011 pledge. Out of 163 state House members, only 38 lawmakers signed.

Brown signed the pledge.[1]
