Bunch outlined some of the issues central to his candidacy in a campaign press release:
Excerpt:"There are many issues and concerns that I see or hear about everyday in District 141...Our district has not had a voice in Austin that speaks for our values and our vision of freedom and prosperity in Texas."
"Dr. Bunch sees that many children in Texas and in District 141 are being denied the opportunity to pursue the American Dream by being stuck in failing schools and he will make education a top priority. Dr. Bunch noted, "We must stop blindly supporting failing schools and give moms and dads the chance to help their children succeed with education scholarships as a form of school choice."
Dr. Bunch also knows the importance of protecting our borders and having some level of security to keep potentially dangerous people out of state and out of our country. "I am the son of an immigrant. My mother came to the U.S. legally, the right way. We must curb illegal immigration in favor of a system that allows us to know who is in our country," Dr. Bunch said.
Every candidate talks about taxes, but the issue is often a vague one. "I support a Constitutional Amendment forbidding a state income tax. I can’t say it any more clearly than that," Dr. Bunch said. "The citizens of Texas are over taxed as it is, I will not allow them to be taxed more. If anything, the state government should waste less money and return that money to the Texas taxpayers."

Bunch ran in the 2012 election for Texas House of Representatives, District 141. Bunch ran unopposed in the May 29 primary election and was defeated by incumbent Senfronia Thompson (D) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[1]
