Michael Ceraso was the New Hampshire state director for Pete Buttigieg's (D) 2020 presidential campaign.

Ceraso co-founded Community Groundwork in 2020, which provides training for community college students interested in civic careers.[1]

Ceraso also worrked on Bernie Sanders' 2016 presidential campaign as California state director and on Barack Obama's 2008 and 2012 presidential campaigns as a field organizer and deputy field director, respectively.[2]

Career

Prior to serving as New Hampshire state director on Buttigieg's campaign, Ceraso worked as the California state director on Bernie Sanders' 2016 presidential campaign. In 2012, he worked as a deputy field director on Barack Obama's re-election campaign; before that, Ceraso was a field organizer on Barack Obama's 2008 presidential campaign.[2]

Ceraso has worked for a variety of campaigns down the ballot as well, including Mark Winston Griffith's race for New York City Council in 2009, Brian Weaver's 2010 campaign for Washington, D.C., city council, John Messer's 2010 run for New York State Senate, Sam Engle's campaign for Glendale, California, city council, Seth Stodder's 2013 campaign for California State Senate, Alan Grayson's 2016 run for U.S. Senate in Florida, Jimmy Gomez's congressional campaign in 2017, and Krishanti Vignarajah's 2018 gubernatorial campaign.[2]

Outside of his work on campaigns, Ceraso co-founded Community Groundwork and Winning Margins.[1][3] He also worked as a city coordinator for Greenpeace in Los Angeles and Philadelphia from 2006 to 2011 and was a policy researcher on Capitol Hill from 2016 to 2017.[2]

Ceraso received an associate degree in history from Citrus College in 2006 and a bachelor's degree in political science and government from Pitzer College in 2014.[2]
