Michael Cherry (Kentucky)
Michael Cherry (b. February 6, 1943) is a former Democratic member of the Kentucky House of Representatives, representing District 4 from 1999 to 2013.
Cherry is President and Owner of Capitol Cinemas Incorporated. He previously served in the United States Navy from 1966-1993.
Cherry is a member of the Caldwell/Crittenden/Lyon/Trigg Free Clinic Board, Chamber of Commerce, Elks, American Legion, and Veterans of Foreign Wars.[1]

Elections
2012
Cherry announced in December 2011 that he would not seek re-election in 2012, stating, "I will be almost 70 at the end of this term, and I feel the job requires an energy and enthusiasm more often found in one younger."[2]
2010
Cherry's opponent in the November 2 general election was Republican candidate Lynn Bechler. According to official results, Cherry defeated Bechler by a margin of 3,361 votes.[3]
Cherry was unopposed in the May 18 Democratic primary.

2008
On November 4, 2008, Cherry was re-elected to the 4th District Seat in the Kentucky House of Representatives with no opposition.[4] He raised $30,729 for his campaign.[5]
