Michael Cloud (Massachusetts)

Michael Cloud is a motivational speaker who was the Massachusetts Libertarian Party candidate for U.S. Senate in 2002. He garnered about 18% of the vote in a 2-way race against the Democratic candidate. He briefly served as campaign manager for the 1996 Harry Browne for President campaign, replaced by Sharon Ayres. He was formerly known as Michael Emerling.
In 2004 Michael Cloud was a Co-founder of the Center For Small Government, an organization dedicated to limiting the size of state and federal government
Cloud worked with fellow Libertarian Party personality Carla Howell as co-chair of the Committee For Small Government.[1] The Committee's goal is to put the issue of ending the Massachusetts income tax on the 2008 ballot. In 2002, a similar campaign ended up with 45.3 percent of the vote.[2]
