I am Michael Commet, born and raised Arkansas native. The only time I have left AR was to work for Hurricane Relief after Katrina in Louisiana and then to serve in the US Army at Fort Hood Texas. I served in Operation Iraq Freedom (combat tour) then returned home. I have been married 21 years this November and we have 2 children.

I also serve on the State Barbers Licensing Board. I am a servant by nature, and because I have a heart for veterans, I am a responder for the local non -profit Veteran Suicide Prevention program. (We are the 22) I enjoy serving in whatever capacity that might mean. I helped found a church and I volunteer there several days a week. I wouldn't have it any other way.

I love the Community of Centerton and we chose to settle and raise our family here. Centerton still has that small town feel. It is growing very quickly and the infrastructure cannot support that growth. We owe it to our neighbors to provide services, sidewalks and amenities. We need to ensure our growth is balanced so that we include the new excited residents but also remember our long term neighbors who have invested so much time and money into this community. Our neighbors of Centerton deserve sidewalks to safely walk on. You deserve a Community Center that you can meet with other neighbors . Centerton has invested and deserves that. As neighbors and community members we all enjoy the amenities that sustain families, children and our seniors. That's balanced growth.
Constitutional Rights, Law and Order, Immigration and Economic Development.
Often we think of the federal office as the most important to our daily lives. The local office such as city council is truly most impactful to your daily life. This level of government impacts you where you live, drive, work and go to school.
Truth, transparency, integrity, loyalty, dependability.
Humbleness and selfless service. Honesty, I'm not influenced by man or woman. I am not governed by my emotions and feelings.
I believe the core responsibilities are to listen and understand the citizens needs and visions for the community. Using their feedback vote on the issues that come to council and present feedback and actions from the citizens, my neighbors. Hold the mayor accountable to the people.
Humbleness and selfless service.
I have several historical events that I can recall. The one that sticks out the most is September 11, 2011. I was 17 and sitting in Public Speaking Class. A bunch of us students got up, walked out and went down to the recruiters office to join the Military and serve. The line was around the building and we spent hours waiting before they stopped taking recruits. I have always had a love for my country and a servants heart.
I worked at IGA (grocery store) I was 14 and worked there for 3 years.
I have a lot of books that I enjoy reading. The one that I go to daily is my Bible. Because its the Word of God and an instruction manual for life and salvation.
Often times citizens look at city council as having the power to manage or direct the city's future. It is actually the mayor who drives the vision of the City and its future. The council speaks for the people through voting on resolutions and proposals brought by the mayor. The council if motivated and diligent will hold the mayor accountable through questions, research and transparency for the people.
The only requirements by State Law is:

Qualified Elector
18 years of age
Resident of the respective ward

The founder fathers never intended or expected people to become career politicians. It is my belief that for the best interest of the people, candidates should hold office for no more than 2 terms and then pass the torch to the next. We are meant to serve the people not create self serving careers.
I believe people have to have a foundational love for their fellow man. This person should be able to listen and rationally problem solve with logic, not emotion. This person should have a firm understanding of current events and how it impacts the people of the community.
This office is in our backyard, this office impacts our community. It is not a far off distant office that you are unable to communicate or see in action. Every citizen has the ability to interact, influence and direct this office. It is unique because the local community has more opportunity to have their voices heard at this level, if they choose to use it.
The people should have full access and transparency to all public business. There should be zero barrier to any citizen accessing, reviewing and understanding all information of the peoples business.
