Campaign themes

In response to a survey conducted by The Hub Independent, Craig argued that the following were the most significant issues confronting the school district:[2]

One of the main issues that I get feedback from parents on is the lack of information to the public. The board makes a tremendous amount of decisions and is responsible for spending close to two-thirds of our tax money. The board makes many decisions without seeking input from the public. Secondly, the district relies too heavily on money from the state to balance its budget. The school district needs to become solvent and use the extra grants from the state for a wish list, not to keep the schools above water.
