Michael D. Wentzell
Michael D. Wentzell is a First Judicial District judge for Carver County, Minnesota. He was appointed to this court by Gov. Mark Dayton in December 2012 to fill the vacancy left by the retirement of Judge Philip T. Kanning.[1]
He was re-elected in 2014 for a term that expires in 2020.[2]

Wentzell received his B.A. with from Concordia College and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.[1]
Career
Before serving on the First District bench, Wentzell worked as an assistant Carver County attorney and as an associate attorney with the law firm Collins, Buckley, Sauntry, & Haugh.[1]
