Davis (Republican Party) is running in a special election for the Place 3 judge of the Texas Twelfth District Court of Appeals. He declared candidacy for the special Republican primary scheduled on March 3, 2026.[source]

Davis was judge of the 369th District Court in Texas. He was appointed by Gov. Greg Abbott (R) in October 2017 to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Bascom Bentley.[1]

Governor of Texas Greg Abbott (R) appointed Davis to the Texas Court of Appeals on October 29, 2025 to replace Greg Neeley.[2]

Davis earned an A.A.S. in criminal justice from Montgomery Community College, a B.A. in psychology and philosophy from Texas State University and a J.D. from Texas Tech University School of Law.[1]

At the time of his appointment to the bench, Davis was an associate at The Law Offices of Jim Parsons. His experience also includes service in the U.S. Air Force and as the president of the Anderson County Bar Association and the Rotary Club of Palestine, the chair of the Palestine Zoning Board of Appeals, the vice chair of the Local Bar Services Committee, and a member of the University of Texas at Tyler Palestine Campus Development Council and the boards of directors of the Palestine YMCA and Palestine Meals on Wheels.[1]
