Michael Debranski is the Suffolk Borough incumbent on the Suffolk School Board in Virginia. He defeated challenger Thelma Hinton in the general election on November 4, 2014. He was first elected to the board in 2006.

Debranski has his bachelor's degree from the College of William & Mary, his master's degree from Old Dominion University and his doctorate in educational administration from Virginia Tech. He is retired from his 34-year career in public schools, having served as a teacher, coach, athletic director, department chair, assistant principal and principal. Most of that time was spent at Suffolk Public Schools, however he spent seven years as a principal in Virginia Beach City Public Schools.[1]

The November 4, 2014, general election in Portsmouth Public Schools featured five seats up for election. In the Chuckatuck race, incumbent Linda Bouchard faced challenger Dorothy Gamble. In the Cypress and Holy Neck races, incumbents Lorraine Skeeter and Enoch Copeland ran unopposed, respectively. In the Suffolk race, incumbent Michael Debranski faced challenger Thelma Hinton. The special election for the Sleepy Hole Borough featured Charles D. Leavell, David Mitnick and appointed board member James Perkinson.

Bouchard, Skeeter, Copeland, Mitnick and Debranski won election in their respective districts.
