Mayden was running in the 2012 election for Illinois House of Representatives District 28. Mayden was running against incumbent Robert Rita, James J. Taylor and Patricia Hanson in the Democratic primary on March 20, 2012, but he was removed from the ballot on January 17, 2012.[1] No candidates filed to run in the Republican primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
