Michael Edwards is the Iowa state director for Tom Steyer's (D) 2020 presidential campaign. Edwards previously worked on Martin O'Malley's (D) 2016 presidential primary campaign. He was hired by the Steyer campaign in July 2019.[1]
Career
Prior to joining the Steyer campaign, Edwards worked as a freelance campaign consultant and strategist. He was the coordinated campaign director for the Indiana Democratic Party in 2012. In addition to his work on political campaigns, Edwards has worked for advocacy groups such as ONE Campaign, Children's Defense Fund, Defeat Poverty DC, and U.S. Chamber Watch.[1]
Besides the 2020 Steyer campaign, Edwards worked on the following campaigns: Margaret Stock's 2016 U.S. Senate campaign, Martin O'Malley's 2016 presidential primary campaign, and Glen Gainer's 2014 U.S. House campaign.[1]
Edwards graduated from Simpson College with a B.A. in political science and government.[1]
