As a long-time resident of Lenexa, Michael is running for city council for an accountable, transparent and responsible government.
- Public Safety- Keeping Lenexa safe should be a primary goal of our city government
- Responsible Growth- Responsible economic growth is good for ALL of Lenexa. As your representative for Ward 4, I will ensure that development policies encourage growth that benefits all of Lenexa, including older areas of the city.
- Responsible Budget- As your voice on the city council, I will ensure that tax dollars are spent wisely, prudently and always with the understanding that this is YOUR money.
I am running for city council to ensure a responsible, accountable and transparent city government that promotes the safe and livable neighborhoods Lenexa is known for. As a small business owner I know that we must make sure taxes are not burdensome and encourage growth and business expansion.

Your city government must be accessible and transparent. As YOUR voice on the city council I will ensure Lenexa keeps moving in the right direction for access to your government. Video recording of city council meetings was a good start, but I will make sure city council actions are clear, open and given plenty of time for citizen input. While city surveys are important, if elected as your representative I know it is equally important to speak directly with the people I represent.
As your representative for Ward 4, I will ensure that development policies encourage growth that benefits all of Lenexa, including older areas of the city. This includes continual investment in existing infrastructure such as our streets and stormwater. The use of TIF and CID incentives must be very limited and only when a clear benefit to all citizens can be shown.
Keeping Lenexa safe should be a primary goal of our city government. Lenexa has dedicated first responders, but we must make sure we continue to attract and retain the best officers and firefighters. As your representative I will ensure we give them the pay, tools and training they need. This includes a focus on some of the issues that affect the livability of our great neighborhoods - theft, vandalism and speeding.
I believe a person running for city council should be a long-term resident of the city, understand the city and be involved rather than someone that just moved here from out of state.
