Michael Fanning
Michael Fanning (Democratic Party) is a judge of the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania.
Fanning ran for re-election for judge of the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He won in the retention election on November 4, 2025.
Education
Fanning received his undergraduate degree from LaSalle University and his J.D. from Temple University.[1]
Career
Prior to joining the court, Fanning was a trial attorney for about 25 years. He also served as a Bucks County assistant district attorney in the child abuse unit.[2]

Fanning ran for an open seat on the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas. He lost the Democratic Party primary to a number of candidates on May 17. He received 2.9 percent of the vote in the Democratic primary.[6] He only filed with the Democratic Party.[7]
