Michael G. Kaplan is a Domestic Violence Division judge of the 17th Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. He was elected on November 5, 2002, taking office the following January. He was re-elected in 2008 and 2014, and his current six-year term expires on January 4, 2021.[1][2][3][4][5]

Kaplan ran for re-election to the Seventeenth Circuit Court.
As an unopposed candidate, he was automatically re-elected without appearing on the ballot. [4] 

Education

Kaplan received his B.S. degree in chemistry from the University of Miami in 1980 and his J.D. from Nova Southeastern University in 1984.[6]

Career

Kaplan began his career in 1984 with the law firm of Spellacy & McFann. He then joined the Law Office of Robert J. McFann in 1989. The following year, he became a partner in McFann, Beavers & Kaplan. He worked in that capacity until 1995, when he became a general master for the 17th Judicial Circuit/Broward County. He was then elected to the 17th Judicial Circuit Court in 2002.[6]
