Biography

Garcia was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico. He earned a bachelor's degree in political science and government from The University of New Mexico and a master's degree from the University of New Mexico School of Public Administration. Before he was elected mayor, Garcia served on the Santa Fe City Council. Garcia's other career experience includes being an AmeriCorps VISTA.
