Michael Heavey
Michael Heavey was a superior court judge for the King County Superior Court, Washington.[1]
Judicial misconduct allegation
The Washington Commission on Judicial Conduct filed a complaint in 2010 against Heavey alleging that he improperly attempted to use his influence as a judge to advocate on behalf of Amanda Knox, a woman convicted of killing her flatmate in Italy in 2007. Heavey is alleged to have used court resources and stationary to communicate with Italian judicial officials and of speaking publicly about the case in an attempt to influence it. Heavey is expected to release a statement in regard to the charges.[2]
