Michael Herrod appointed to Maricopa County Superior Court
May 16, 2011
Arizona: Last week, Governor Jan Brewer appointed Michael J. Herrod to the Maricopa County Superior Court. He succeeds Joseph B. Heilman, who retired recently. [1]
In her announcement, Brewer said, "Mr. Herrod is a well-rounded and accomplished attorney who has practiced law in the state of Arizona for nearly thirty years. His specialization in family law issues will be a tremendous asset to the Maricopa County court system."[1]
Before joining court, Herrod spent most of his career in private practice. He was a founding director of a private firm that he has practiced with since 1999. He also served as a prosecutor for the Town of Carefree.[1]
As a Superior Court judge in Maricopa County, Herrod will not have to stand for retention until the November 2014 election.[1]
