Michael Ian Rothschild is a judge of the Seventeenth Circuit Court of Florida. He was elected in 2012 and took office on January 8, 2013. His current term expires in 2019.[1][2]
Education
Rothschild received his B.A. degree (English major, Linguistics minor) from the University of Florida and his J.D. degree from Nova Southeastern University's Shepard Broad Law Center.[3]
Career
Rothschild began his career at the Broward Public Defender's Office. He spent six years there before becoming a senior associate of the Law Office of Larry S. Davis, P.A. Three years later, he joined the firm of Colodny, Fass, Talenfeld, Karlinsky & Abate, P.A. and, a year after that, he became a senior associate of Glantz & Glantz, P.A. He was then elected to the circuit court in 2012.[3]
2012 election
Rothschild ran for election on Aug. 14, 2012. He defeated Julie C. Shapiro-Harris with 51.4% of the vote.[2][4]
