Michael J. Kaplan is a recalled bankruptcy judge for the United States bankruptcy court, Western District of New York. He joined the court on October 7, 1991, and served as chief judge from 1993 to 2000.[1]

Kaplan received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University in 1968 and his J.D. from Boston University School of Law in 1971.[1]
