Michael J. Kelly was a family court judge for the Eleventh Family Court Circuit which presides over Kanawha County in West Virginia. He was elected to the court in 2002 and was re-elected in 2008. Kelly retired from the court on August 31, 2014.[1]

Education

Kelly received his undergraduate degree from West Virginia University and his J.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.[2]

Career

Before he became a judge, Kelly worked as an attorney in private practice and in the state Attorney General’s Office. In 1999, he was appointed a family law master, and was elected to the Eleventh Family Court Circuit when family courts were created by the West Virginia State Legislature in 2000.[1]
