Michael J. Newmeister

Michael J. Newmeister is a senior judge of the Sixth District of Iowa. He was originally appointed to this court in March of 1987. He retired in 2007 and assumed senior status.[1][2]
Biography and Education
Newmeister was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa in 1973 and his law degree from Pepperdine University in 1976. He is now married and has two children.[1]
Career
Newmeister began his career in 1976 as a private practice lawyer. He worked in this capacity until his judicial appointment in 1987. For three years of this time, he was also the director of the Linn County Advocate.[1]
