Michael J. Shubatt

Michael J. Shubatt is a district court judge on the District 1A Court in Iowa. First appointed to the position in 2008, he won retention to a full six-year term in 2010. Shubatt was retained in the general election on November 8, 2016.[1]
Biography
Shubatt received both his undergraduate degree and J.D. from the University of Iowa in 1987 and 1990. He worked for 18 years as a lawyer emphasizing civil litigation and trial work. Prior to his judicial appointment, he was a shareholder in the law firm of Fuerste, Carew, Coyle, Juergens & Sudmeier, P.C.[1]
Shubatt is a member of the Dubuque County Bar Association, Iowa State Bar Association, and American Bar Association. As of September 1, 2016, there was no record of disciplinary orders against Shubatt from the Iowa Judicial Branch Office of Professional Regulation.[1][2]
