Michael K. Singer was the chief judge of the Colorado 13th Judicial District Court. He was appointed to the position on July 29, 2003[1] and retired from the position on January 1, 2022.[2]


Education

Singer received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and his J.D. from the University of Denver School of Law.[3]

Career

Singer worked as a partner of a law firm in Sterling, Colorado and as a municipal judge, before becoming the chief judge of Colorado's 13th Judicial District. He retired from the 13th Judicial District Court on January 1, 2022. [2]

Elections

2012

Singer was retained in the general election on November 6, winning 70.71% of the vote.[4]

Judicial performance evaluation

The Thirteenth Judicial District Commission on Judicial Performance announced its recommendations for judges up for retention in 2012. According to its website, the commission evaluates judges based on the following criteria: integrity, legal knowledge, communication skills, judicial temperament, and administrative performance.[5]


Judge Singer was recommended for retention by an unanimous vote. [3]
