Michael Kinard (Arkansas)
M. Michael Kinard was a judge on the Arkansas Court of Appeals. He was appointed by Democratic Governor Mike Beebe on December 31, 2014, to fill the District 5 vacancy created when Robin Wynne was elected to the Arkansas Supreme Court. His term ended December 31, 2016.[1] He previously served on this court from 2009 to 2010.[2][3]
Education
Kinard received his bachelor's degree from Southern State College (now Southern Arkansas University) and his J.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 1966.[2]
Career
During his 42-year legal career, Kinard has worked as an attorney in private practice and as a prosecutor. He was appointed as a special justice to the Arkansas Supreme Court by Governors Clinton and Huckabee. He also served in the Arkansas Senate.[2]
