Michael L. Kirk was a judge on the Minnesota Court of Appeals, representing the Seventh Congressional District. Governor Mark Dayton (D) appointed Kirk to this position on June 27, 2012.[1] He was elected in 2014 for a term that would have expired on January 4, 2021.[2] Kirk retired effective November 8, 2018.[3][4]

Kirk received his B.A. in economics from the University of Minnesota in 1972 and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1975.[5]
