Michael Kupersmith
Michael S. Kupersmith is a former Superior Court judge for the Chittenden Unit in Vermont. He was appointed to the bench in April 1987. His wife is former Vermont House of Representatives member Michele Ferland Kupersmith.[1][2][3] Kupersmith retired from the court in January 2016.[4]
Education
Kupersmith received his A.B. from Brown University in 1964. He earned his J.D. from the New York University School of Law in 1968.[2]
Career
Kupersmith spent the years from 1977 to 1983 as a juvenile defender and public defender for the cities of Burlington and St. Albans. He began his career, after being admitted to the Vermont and Chittenden County bars in 1971, as a staff attorney for Vermont Legal Aid and as a public defender in Burlington, and later opening his a private law practice.[3][5]
