2014

Lee's campaign website listed his themes for 2014:

I think it is very important that EVERY child has opportunities to learn in a safe, exciting, and structured environment. It is important that each child (no matter the sex, age, race, background, religious beliefs) has access to technology, highly trained teachers, and active resources for their success. There are many issues and challenges facing our children, teachers, parents and educational systems and I feel it is very important to bring as many minds and backgrounds to the table to tackle them one-by-one.

My focuses are:

  • Teacher Satisfaction and Retention
  • Student achievement gaps
  • Reading levels in K-3 graders
  • Bringing DPS up-to-date with technology
  • Increasing parental involvement
  • Reduction of out-of-school suspensions for lower level offenses
  • For these reasons, and many more, I am honored to be a candidate for the Durham Public School Board of Education.
