Campaign themes

2016

Martinez's campaign website highlighted the following issues:

Education

  • The most important thing we can do is invest in our education system. Funding early childhood development, all-day Kindergarten, our public schools, our public universities and community colleges, and vocational training is the best way we can ensure that our students are able to be successful in their transition to the workforce. Our public education system is in shambles and fixing that system will be my #1 priority.

Economy

  • Small businesses have been the backbone of our local economies and I believe we must find ways to support them. Promoting policies that help them succeed, while also finding ways to empower our workforce, is the best way we can build our middle class and create a sustainable economy.

Environment

  • Arizona has some of the most beautiful landscapes in the country and I plan to make sure they stay that way. But, we must also think about our ability to sustain future generations. From air quality, to energy, to our water supply, it's time we stop living year to year and promote policies that sustain our state for decades.[1]
