Michael Massengale
Michael Massengale (Republican Party) was a judge for Place 8 of the Texas First District Court of Appeals. He left office on December 31, 2018.
Massengale (Republican Party) ran for re-election for the Place 8 judge of the Texas First District Court of Appeals. He lost in the general election on November 6, 2018.
Massengale ran for a seat on the Texas Supreme Court in the 2016 judicial elections and was defeated by incumbent Justice Debra Lehrmann.
Education
Massengale earned his bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College and his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law. While in school he earned the Outstanding Editor Award from the Texas Law Review, published his student note, served as book review editor and edited the ninth edition of Texas Rules of Form.[1]

In June 2015, Massengale announced that he would challenge Texas Supreme Court Justice Debra Lehrmann in the 2016 Republican primary. Lehrmann defeated Massengale and will face Democrat Mike Westergren in the November general election.[3]

Massengale defeated judicial candidate Nile Copeland in the general election on November 6, 2012, with 53.8 percent of the vote.[4][5]
2010

Massengale ran for election to the seat to which he was appointed. He defeated Robert Ray in the general election, winning 58.3 percent of the vote.[6]
