Michael McDaniel (Florida)

Michael P. McDaniel is a judge on the 10th Circuit Court in Florida. He was appointed by Republican Governor Rick Scott on June 24, 2016, to succeed Judge J. Dale Durrance.[1]
McDaniel had filed to run for the Group 8 seat on the Polk County Court in the primary election on August 30, 2016. Following his appointment to the circuit court, he withdrew from the county court race.
Biography
McDaniel received a bachelor's degree from the University of South Florida and a J.D. from Nova Southeastern University. At the time of his judicial appointment, he was the owner of the McDaniel Law Firm. From 2010 to 2013, McDaniel was a senior rule of law advisor for the U.S. Department of State. He also previously worked for other private law firms.[1]
