A significant struggle in my life has been balancing the demands of a military career with personal and family commitments. Serving in the military often involves extended deployments, frequent relocations, and the inherent challenges of being away from loved ones for extended periods. This struggle has required me to develop resilience, time management skills, and a strong support network to navigate the complexities of military life while maintaining meaningful connections with my family and friends. It has been a journey of personal growth and a testament to the importance of adaptability and determination in overcoming life's challenges.
Direct Representation: House members are directly elected by constituents in their respective congressional districts, ensuring a direct link between representatives and the people.

Population-Based Representation: With proportional representation based on state populations, the House mirrors demographic shifts and ensures more populous states have more seats.

Shorter Terms: House members serve two-year terms, promoting responsiveness to public sentiment.

Larger Membership: With 435 voting members, the House reflects America's diversity and provides a broad range of perspectives.

Initiation of Revenue Bills: All tax and spending bills must start in the House, giving it a key role in the budget process.

Impeachment Authority: The House can impeach federal officials, including the President, as part of its oversight role.

Leadership Structure: The Speaker of the House, elected by members, wields significant influence in shaping the legislative agenda.

Committee System: Committees allow for specialized expertise in examining proposed legislation.

Regular Elections: Biennial elections keep representatives attuned to public sentiment.

Closer to the People: Smaller constituencies enable closer ties between representatives and constituents.

Reflecting Demographic Diversity: The House mirrors changing demographics and political shifts.
No, the system was created for that exact reason. This will allow untarnished candidates to bring a new and fresh way of thinking.
Yes, but it does seem a little short, however four years is too long
There must be term limits so that our elected official's mentality will change with the country,
Talking to families devastated by their child's death from overdosing on fentanyl and dying. Most of the victims didn't even intend to take fentanyl.

Families are losing their children to human trafficking. Mississippi ranks #10 in Human trafficking.

Seeing children going to school hungry and not having anything to eat at home destroys the chances of children having a positive learning experience in school.
Yes, there must be compromise from both sides. We will fail as a Nation and a political party if we do not.
Fiscal Responsibility: As a representative, I would prioritize responsible fiscal policies. The House's authority to initiate revenue bills means that I would have a direct role in shaping the federal budget and taxation policies. I would work to ensure that these policies are fiscally responsible, promote economic growth, and do not unduly burden taxpayers.

Addressing Key Issues: I would use this power to introduce and support bills that address critical issues such as healthcare, education, infrastructure, and social services. By initiating revenue bills, I could propose funding mechanisms that support these priorities and ensure that they receive the necessary financial resources.

Constituent Representation: It is essential to represent the interests and concerns of my constituents effectively. I would use my authority to craft revenue bills that align with the needs and priorities of the people I serve, ensuring that federal funds are directed toward projects and programs that benefit my district.

Bipartisanship and Collaboration: Initiating revenue bills requires collaboration with colleagues from both sides of the aisle. I would seek bipartisan support for revenue proposals to promote consensus and ensure that our fiscal policies are balanced and fair.

Transparency and Accountability: I would advocate for transparency in the budgeting process, making sure that revenue bills are clear and accessible to the public. Additionally, I would work to hold government agencies accountable for the efficient and responsible use of taxpayer dollars.

In summary, the power to originate revenue bills in the House is a significant responsibility that directly impacts the nation's finances and policies. If elected, I would use this authority to advance the interests of my constituents, promote fiscal responsibility, and address critical issues facing our country.
The U.S. House of Representatives should use its investigative powers judiciously and responsibly to fulfill its constitutional role as a check on the executive branch, ensure government transparency and accountability, and serve the interests of the American people. Here's how these powers should be utilized:

Checks and Balances: The House should employ its investigative powers to oversee and check the actions of the executive branch, irrespective of the political party in power. This includes examining potential abuses of power, corruption, or violations of the law.

Government Accountability: Investigations should focus on holding government agencies and officials accountable for their actions. This can involve inquiries into the use of taxpayer funds, compliance with laws and regulations, and the effectiveness of government programs.

Transparency: The House should promote transparency by conducting open and impartial investigations. This includes making investigative findings public whenever possible, allowing the American people to understand the government's actions and decisions.

National Security: Investigative powers can be used to address matters of national security, ensuring that intelligence agencies operate within the boundaries of the law and safeguarding citizens' civil liberties.

Legislative Oversight: The House should use investigations to gather information necessary for policymaking. This includes examining issues related to healthcare, the economy, environmental protection, and more to craft effective legislation.

Protection of Rights: Investigative powers should be employed to safeguard all citizens' constitutional rights and civil liberties, particularly those who may be vulnerable or marginalized.

Bipartisanship: Whenever possible, investigations should be conducted in a bipartisan manner, with both parties working together to ensure fairness and impartiality.
