Biography
Mears' Facebook page highlighted the following campaign themes:
“ | With my extensive background in public safety I have formulated ideas on how to curb the drug epidemic (i.e. Heroin, Meth, Crack) that faces our communities. I will push to pass legislation to properly fund emergency response to the Illiana Toll way as not to overly burden an already strained Police, Fire, and EMS sector. If this Toll way comes to fruition I will work to maximize the economic benefits to the region.[1][2] | ” |

2014
Elections for the Indiana House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 6, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 7, 2014. James Metro defeated Phillip Kuiper in the Democratic primary, while Michael J. Aylesworth defeated Michael Mears in the Republican primary. Aylesworth defeated Metro in the general election.[3][4]
