Campaign themes
2014
Kelsey's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]
Taxes
- Excerpt: "Taxation must have its limits, and government should not be in the business of providing everything to everyone. Since every tax dollar comes at the expense of our hardworking men and women, our state government should be held accountable for how it uses this money."
Individual Liberties
- Excerpt: "As our assemblyman, he will work to repeal the SAFE Act and will fight to stop the state government’s legislative overreach on our fundamental liberties."
Mental Health
- Excerpt: "As our assemblyman, he wants to ensure the state government helps hospitals provide top-notch mental health treatment, particularly so children in distress can be treated in their home communities."
Economy
- Excerpt: "Rather than continuing the endless bureaucratic red tape and exorbitant fees that drive our families and job creators elsewhere for opportunities, we should focus on helping existing local businesses flourish and expand. We must also remedy our state’s economic climate in order to encourage new businesses to develop and succeed."
Education
- Excerpt: "As assemblyman, Mike will work to eliminate Common Core and restore education policy decisions where they belong: at the local level."
