Michael Patti

Michael Patti (b. July 25, 1976) was a Libertarian candidate for District 9 of the Arizona State Senate. The primary election was on August 24, 2010, and the general election was on November 2, 2010.[1]

Patti earned his B.A. in political science and Spanish from Arizona State University in 2000. He has worked as a Spanish Teacher for the Peoria Unified School District since 2003.

- Taxes
- Excerpt: "In order to allow the people to reach their full potential, we need to repeal the Arizona State personal income and property taxes. Taxation of our income or our property is not a founding principle of our nation."
- Business Regulations
- Excerpt: "...we need to limit state and occupational licensing boards, taxes and other state regulations that discourage entrepreneurship. I firmly believe entrepreneurs solve problems that the government cannot."
- Immigration
- Excerpt: "First and foremost, I support legal immigration and legal migration... I support securing our borders with humane, non lethal, deterrent technology."
- Education
- Excerpt: "Imagine a pyramid and the money flowing from the top to the bottom. My plan is to reverse the flow of money in that same pyramid by starting at the bottom and going towards the top. This will empower teachers in the classroom and parents to make choices that are necessary for their students."
- Electricity
- Excerpt: "Competition must be able to flourish so that the consumers have the electricity needed at an affordable price. By eliminating the monopolies and state control, innovation by entrepreneurs will meet those demands."
- Water
- Excerpt: "The Clean Water Act passed by Congress forces states throughout the country to have the same water management standards and regulations... Arizona needs to pressure Congress to opt out of the law and to allow the state to manage its own water resources through the development of innovative means."

- Excerpt: "I propose that we adopt a free market approach by contracting out park management to private management companies. These companies would complete to lease the land from the state while properly running the parks to attract more visitors."
- Eminent Domain
- Excerpt: "As senator, I would pass legislation that provides protection and certainty for property owners. Cities and municipalities would no longer be able to change zoning classification at will."
