Michael R. Peevey
Michael R. Peevey is a former member and president of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), the state body charged with regulating the state's utility companies.[1] Peevey was first appointed to the CPUC by former Gov. Davis in March 2002. Davis designated Peevey CPUC President on December 31, 2002.
In December 2008, Davis' successor, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, re-appointed Peevey to a second six-year term on the CPUC.[1]
Peevey's second term expired in December 2014, and Commission Michael Picker was named the new CPUC President by Gov. Jerry Brown (D).[2]
Biography
From 1995 until 2000, Peevey was president of NewEnergy Inc.[1] Prior to that, Peevey was a senior executive and eventual president of Edison International and Southern California Edison Company.[1]
