Michael Rice (Rhode Island)
Michael Rice (b. March 4, 1955) is a former Democratic member of the Rhode Island House of Representatives, representing District 35 from 2009 to 2010.
Biography
Rice earned his B.S. in Biology from the University of San Francisco in 1977, his M.S. from the University of California, Irvine in 1981 and his Ph.D. in Environmental Physiology from the University of California, Irvine in 1987. His professional experience includes working as a professor for the University of Rhode Island since 1987. Rice served in the United States Peace Corps in the Philippines from 1981 to 1996.[1]

Elections
2010
Rice ran unsuccessfully for re-election in 2010. Spencer Dickinson defeated him in the September 14 Democratic primary election.[2] Dickinson faced Republican James Haldeman in the November 2 general election.
2008
In 2008 Rice was elected to the Rhode Island House District 35. Rice (D) finished with 2,862 votes while his opponent James Haldeman (R) finished with 2,117 votes.[3] Rice raised $20,754 for his campaign fund.[4]
