Primary: He was successful in the Democratic primary on May 6, 2014, receiving 63.9 percent of the vote. He competed against John Lake.

Bergerson received a B.S. from John Carroll University and a J.D. from Northern Illinois University.[3]

Career

Prior to being elected to the court, Bergerson was a senior deputy prosecutor and ran a private law practice.[3]
