What would be your top three priorities, if elected?
My top priorities are (1) making housing in Denver attainable and affordable, (2) filling the gaps in our city's transportation network, and (3) ensuring a safer Denver for everyone--drivers, pedestrians, families, etc.
What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
Housing, Transportation, and Safety are the issues I am most passionate about.
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
Integrity is, by far, the most important quality in an elected official.
What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
As a firefighter, I have dedicated my entire adult life to public service. I know that the needs of others must come first, and I believe that the spirit of public service--not the spirit of politics as usual--needs to be brought back to city hall.
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
A good councilman advocates for the community. This means that a good councilman but be willing to listen, and must be an active participant in the neighborhood. I believe that a councilmember who is not in the community cannot advocate for the community, and I believe that a councilmember who does not listen to the community will not hear the community.
What legacy would you like to leave?
The only legacy I care about is the legacy of Northwest Denver. It has been my home for 64 years, and I would be honored to contribute to its future succcess.
