Michael Sullivan (Massachusetts)
Michael Sullivan was a 2013 Republican candidate seeking election to the U.S. Senate from Massachusetts. He was defeated by Gabriel Gomez in the Republican primary on April 30, 2013.[1]

Career
In 2001, Sullivan was named the United States Attorney for the District of Massachusetts.[3] Sullivan was also appointed Acting Director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (“ATF”). He served in that role utnil January 2009.[3]
From 2009 through the present, Sullivan has served as a partner at Boston-based Ashcroft-Sullivan, where he advises individual and corporate clients.[3]
Political career
From 1991 to 1995, Sullivan served in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, where he sat on the Education, Local Affairs, Commerce and Labor, Ways and Means and Post Audit and Oversight Committees.[3]
Elections
2013
Sullivan sought election to the United States Senate seat vacated by John Kerry, after his confirmation by the U.S. Senate to Secretary of State. The Republican primary was April 30, 2013. Sullivan was defeated by Gabriel Gomez in the Republican primary on April 30, 2013.[4][5]
