Michael V. Coccoma is a former justice for the Otsego County Supreme Court in the 6th Judicial District of New York. He served on the court from 2008 to 2020. Coccoma was first elected to a term on this court that began in 2008. He also served as Deputy Chief Administrative Judge for the courts outside of New York City from 2009 until his retirement.[1][2] Coccoma retired from the bench on June 30, 2020.[3]

Education

Coccoma received his B.A. degree from The Citadel (Military College) and his J.D. degree from the Albany Law School.[1]

Career

Coccoma worked in Otsego County as a Chief Assistant District Attorney and then a District Attorney prior to his judicial election in 1995. That year, he joined the Otsego County Court, where he served as a multi-bench judge of the County, Surrogate's and Family courts through 2007. In 2008, he was elected to the Supreme Court. He also served as an Administrative Judge of the 6th Judicial District in 2008 and 2009. He later served as a Deputy Chief Administrative Judge, beginning in 2009.[1]
