Biography
Michael Vargas earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California in 2008, a graduate degree from the University of Southern California, Rossier School of Education in 2010, and a law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School in 2013.[1]

- Getting Back on Track: The COVID-19 pandemic caused tremendous disruptions to our children's education. We need to get our students back on track both academically and socially, which includes keeping our schools safe and healthy.
- Educational Equity: We know that children learn best when they see themselves, their families, and their communities reflected in the curriculum. Equity in education must continue to be a priority so that all our students feel supported, encouraged, and affirmed in school.
- Supporting Our Educators: We cannot overlook the tremendous sacrifices our teachers, staff, and administrators made during the COVID-19 shutdown. As we get back to normal operations, we must make redouble our efforts to support all our educators and make them whole.
And these programs are important for students who plan on attending college. I am also passionate about ensuring that students have the opportunity to go to college and that we are doing everything we can to support college-bound students. That includes creating all the opportunities that they will need to give them the best chance at gaining acceptance to the schools of their choice.
