Michael Ward

Michael Ward was a judge for the Athens County Court of Common Pleas in Athens, Ohio. He was appointed to the court by former Governor George Voinovich in 1992 and was later elected to the judge's seat in 1993. Ward served seven consecutive terms as judge and retired on December 31, 2012, after twenty years on the bench.[1] On January 2, 2013, Ward was back on the bench for a temporary assignment until a replacement can be found for his position.[2]

Ward received his undergraduate degree from Miami University in Ohio and his J.D. from the Ohio State University.[3]
