Michael Woods was an at-large member of the Chesapeake Public Schools in Virginia. Woods assumed office in 1998. Woods left office on January 1, 2023.
Woods ran for re-election for an at-large seat of the Chesapeake Public Schools in Virginia. Woods won in the general election on May 1, 2018.
Biography
Woods holds an associate degree from Tidewater Community College and B.A. from St. Leo College. He also earned a J.D. from the University of Dayton. Woods worked for 14 years as an officer with the Norfolk Police Department before opening his own legal practice. He has volunteered time with the Chesapeake Youth Committee and the Chesapeake Criminal Justice Board. Woods and his wife, Nancy, have three children.[1]

Incumbents Christie Craig, Colleen Leary, Harry Murphy, Louis Tayon Jr., and Michael Woods faced challengers Gayle Gilmore, Sharon Johnson-Clayton, Patricia King, Bryan Miles, Luis Padilla, and Bradley Whitlow.

Michael J. Woods sought re-election to an at-large seat against fellow incumbents Christie Craig and Harry A. Murphy and seven challengers in the general election on May 10, 2014. Board members Bonita Billingsley Harris and Ann R. Wiggins did not file for re-election by the March 4, 2014 deadline.
