Michael Yavinsky is a judge for the New York City Criminal Court of New York County, New York. He was appointed to this court as an interim Civil Court judge assigned to the Criminal Court in January of 2009. He was reappointed in January of 2010 to a term ending in 2018.[1][2]

Education

Yavinsky received his undergraduate degree from Connecticut College and his J.D. degree from the Northeastern University School of Law.[1][2]

Career

Yavinsky has worked in the Criminal Division of the Legal Aid Society and with Queens Law Associates. In 2003, he became a principal court attorney of the Criminal Court. He then worked as a chief court attorney of the Criminal Court from 2004 through 2008 and, the following year, was appointed judge of the court.[1]
