Primary: She was defeated in the primary on June 3, 2014, receiving 30.07 percent of the vote. She competed against Ken Gosselin and Brad A. Weinreb.

The San Diego County Bar Association's Judicial Election Evaluation Committee rated Hagan as "Lacking Qualifications" in 2014.[3]
